Municipal Authority of the Borough of Elverson

Chester County, PA

Hydraterra provides the planning and preliminary design necessary for grant award.

The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Elverson has struggled to completely abandon existing lagoons remaining from their previous treatment system.  Acting as the Authority’s Engineer, Hydraterra considered the services necessary to complete the closure of each of the two, three-million gallon impoundments and prepared supporting information for a grant application to the Chester County Community Revitalization Program. The grant was recently awarded to the Borough and will help to finance final closure of the lagoons.

Hydraterra is currently preparing a design that will include dewatering, backfilling and re-grading of the lagoons, removal of unsightly structures, improvements to the sewer collection system, treatment plant water system and storm water mitigation. The goal of the project is to close the lagoons and sub-divide the property to allow for continue wastewater treatment on one tract and residential development adjacent to the Borough center on the other tract.
